Ronchi Di Cialla, Ribolla Nera
Ribolla Nera is a synonym of Schioppettino and the 2010 Colli Orientali del Friuli Ribolla Nera is a fresh and easy-drinking red from young vines (eight to 25-years-old). It shows a strikingly unique bouquet that burst opens with beautifully chiseled aromas of crushed black pepper and dusty spicebox. The aromas are so distinct and different, it makes this wine very difficult to compare to any other. The only drawback is the thinnest of the mouth-feel that makes the wine appropriate for light dishes or appetizers. I did come back to the wine one day later and the wine had fleshed out a bit more.
